Barny Holmes is a Singer Songwriter based in Norwich & London (UK).
Barny has the rare skill to mix covers from all genres seamlessly together to create an atmosphere like no other, Which isn't bad for just one man and his guitar. The use of high notes and haunting Vibrato has been widely recognised and makes his voice indistinguishable across the board and not only does he play covers but he also sing writes himself. He's Music is best described as catchy, Heart Felt, emotional, dark and yet very relatable. He has been lead singer with many bands that have covered a huge amount of different genres which have all seeped into his solo work in some way or another and made him very versatile with his vocal range.
He started his music journey at the age of 14 with the purchase of his first electric guitar. He soon became a member of a band called S2A and quickly got signed by a local label after being seen supporting Enter Shikari and Fei comodo. Unfortunately the band split but Barny carried on with sheer determination and secured shows supporting Ed Sheeran and Ben Howard back when he was just 19. Barny Joined many bands over the years after this and had the privilege to support other great bands such as 'The First' and 'Malory Knox'.
Then in 2011 Barny Joined a Duo Named De' Vide whom came second to supporting Neyo at the O2 Arena and were featured on Jessie J's team on the hit TV series The Voice UK. They also had songs played on BBC Radio and played at many huge festivals such as: Sundown, Brighton Pride, Astonbury festival and Art Football (which included a 10 day tour of Russia) and placed on the line up with huge artists such as Jessie J, Katie B & Tinchy Stryder. Barny also played at many of these events as a solo artist.
He has Showcased his work with local stations in suffolk, norfolk and london including BBC 1 Extra, BBC Introducing and DJ Targets Show Homegrown as well as being in a collaboration with which was featured on BBC R1 with charly sloth and SBTV.
In 2015 Barny teamed up with local Beat/RnB producer Kayzee and created his debut EP titled 'Iter Itneris' (The Journey) which had a great response and soon gained the attention of BBC Introducing whom played some of the tracks on their show. This has sparked enthusiasm for more EP's to come and eventually an album.
